This night was extra special for me as I got to watch my good friend Shaney Jo receive a well deserved honor of Humanitarian Of The Year. The entire event was over the top and just perfect. Valet upon arrival, stood in line with pal Derek Dunfee, gala photo op, greeted at the door by the gracious host Fernando Aguirre, Keep-A-Breast live breast-casting by Margaux & Shaney Jo, admiring surf relics with Carl Ekstrom and Patricia Dwyer, cruising the auction items with Dave Nash, meeting Calvin Saxton after his art piece collab with Dane Reynolds sold for $4000, getting warmed up with the MOVMT crew at the bar, hitting the dance floor with some new friends, closing it down with Garrett Hale, and of course valet again. I love me a good valet ticket.

My only regret is not enjoying more of the tasty foods walking around, or getting there extra early to watch all the live music, or spending 48 hours in Fernando’s surf museum. I guess there’s always next year.
